FiftyNorth.ca is a journey of two extreme fly fishers “hell-bent” on exploring and sharing their discoveries of “Flyfishing The North Country.”
Follow along as they document their travels and adventures in the wilderness of Northern Alberta, where unlike most Southern Alberta “City Slicker” folks whom may merely stroll down to the bankside during a lunch break to casually catch “Downtown Browns”, up here our Northern Trout and Grayling streams are few and far between precious places to us. Many are considered sacred, especially given our short seasons between winters.
With Alberta’s on-going boom in Oil & Gas exploration, new routes and inroads are continually founded up North. Here, we still enjoy the solitude and solidarity of fishing, and exploration with our brothers on quiet streams in natural settings. Keeping most things secret… until now.
Cougar & Bears, Oh My! Bring them all on we say!! For that, is what truly keeps most Southern folks away.. and for these wild things… we are most greatful.
